Trade License.cz / Tax, Social, Health Registration
Different requirements for EU Citizens and 3rd-Country Nationals!
After you get the trade license from the Trade License Register, you are able to trade but you are still not registered completely in the czech system. To follow are the tax office, the social security and health insurance (for EU and some 3rd Country Nationals only).
If the trade license owner is living in Prague then we visit all offices.
This means that the entire process is much faster than sending documents in.
Iif the person is living outside of Prague then we send the registrations by mail and it may take much longer, because local small-town authorities are usually very difficult, so we have to make calls, send in extra documents etc. etc.
For EU Citizens and 3rd-Country National with Permanent Residence Permit:
Tax, Social- and Health Charges registration.
We will register you at the tax office, social office and health insurance.
Social- and Health charges are to be paid monthly.
If you do not have a permanent Residence Permit then also you should get an temporary Residence Permit for business purposes (EU Citizens only), since that is obligated, if only to prove to the taxoffice back home that you are not (tax)resident there.
For 3rd-Country Nationals with a long-term D-Visa:
Tax and Social Charges registration + Health Insurance for visa purposes.
We will register you at the tax office and social office (starting 2011 the Commercial Court registration is automatic).
No need to pay monthly health insurance payments unless you have worked as employee before in EU or your country has a bi-lateral agreement with Czech Republic for health insurance, in these cases you will also be in the public health care system (see also next page).
For the first long-term D-Visa for Business purposes it is usually enough to have the basic emergency insurance of +/- 2.500 CZK / 6 months, but since 2011 the 'complex care' health insurance of +/- 15.000 / year is obligated for Business Visa extensions (unless you fall into the categories mentioned in the above paragraph). We have noticed that some embassies do not accept the cheap emergency insuraance, but require right away the 'complec care' insurance.
Do not try to register by yourself
The registration at Tax / Social / Health is actually more complicated than the Trade License registration itself.
It involves more steps, more documents and visiting several offices. In the past we offered people a cheaper option to prepare the documents and they themselves would go to the various authorities, but we don't anymore.
Inevitably mistakes are made, it is not faster and if we need to correct the mistakes it is also not cheaper.
